Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), a secure network communication protocol offered by Microsoft, allows users to execute remote operations on other computers.

RDP stands for Remote Desktop Protocol. It is a proprietary protocol developed by Microsoft that allows a user to connect to and control a remote computer over a network connection. RDP enables remote access to a computer's desktop, allowing users to interact with the remote system as if they were physically present at the machine.

Using RDP, a user can access files, applications, and resources on a remote computer from a different location. It is commonly used for remote administration, technical support, and remote working scenarios. RDP sessions can be established within a local network or over the internet, provided that the necessary network connectivity and permissions are in place.
